The Nordic Center is Open

It's time to ski!

The Nordic Center is open! There are groomed trails in town and at Lily Lake. So, it's time to ski in this beautiful November weather while we do our snow dances.

Now is a great time to come pick up your season pass! Bring back your pass from last year for an updated 2023-2024 sticker, and help us save some plastic. Don't forget season passes come with a whole bunch of perks:
  • 5 free ski or snowshoe rentals
  • 30% off private lessons
  • 30% off tours
  • $50 off yurt dinners (email matt@cbnordic.org for a refund)
It's not too late to get access to unlimited skiing! Purchase your season pass today.

Youth program registration is open. Sign your kids up for nordic skiing, backcountry courses, and biathlon today. Programming begins the week after Thanksgiving.

Masters Community registrations have been strong. We don't cap sessions; instead, we'll add additional instructors to keep our ratios sound. Registration for each month's sessions will close at 5 p.m. the Friday before the first meeting. For example, for December sessions that meet on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th, registration will close on December 1st at 5 p.m. Thank you for signing up early! Due to popular demand, new Adult Biathlon Masters Sessions have been added on SATURDAYS in January and February (in addition to Wednesday sessions).

Here's to a great winter season. See you on the trails!

Trail Updates

What to expect when you head out!

Lily Lake was groomed on Thursday, November 9th. The meadow is looking good and groomed for skating. The approach is somewhat treacherous. We recommend AT gear or snowshoes for the commute up the hill. Parking is tight up there and may require 4-wheel capabilities. We recommend parking at the Y and walking to the trailhead. Practice safe backcountry travel and always go with a buddy.

There's good skiing to be had on the Bench Trails above the Nordic Center, but similar to Lily Lake, the approach is rocky and muddy. We recommend walking up the hill and changing into ski boots at the stadium. Please remember, trail passes are required on The Bench.

We're heading out Thursday or Friday to put in the last of the bridges. Email Kevin Krill, kevin@cbnordic.org, i
f you can join us!

And for more trail news, a word from CBMR:

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is proud once again to offer FREE uphill access for the 2023/24 winter season. Guests must call the uphill access hotline at 970-349-2345 to see if uphill access is open that day before heading to the mountain. When open, uphill travel is allowed only on the designated route from 4:30 pm to 8:45 a.m. Violating closures and skinning outside designated areas may result in the removal of your ski pass or a trespassing charge. Please help us to keep the uphill program for years to come by abiding by all policies and procedures.
