The CB Nordic Team teaches kids to love skiing and the winter outdoors. Our motivated coaches create a safe environment to cultivate teamwork and to inspire athletes to be the best people and skiers they can be. We offer on snow after school programs for athletes ages 3 to 18. From competitive nordic racing to biathlon, from fort building to skimo, the Crested Butte Nordic Team has a program for everyone.

Youth Adventure Sessions

Exciting and engaging half-day nordic experiences for youth. Local and visiting kids will enjoy ski touring through our forested trails, picnicking in the sunshine, and exploring new terrain. Skiers will focus on fun through learning safe and efficient nordic skiing! Winter adventure skills, shelter building, and mountain awareness will be presented in age appropriate skill sessions.

Pinnacle Orthopedics Community Race Series

This year, Crested Butte Nordic is offering a 5 races in the Pinnacle Orthopedics Community Race Series over the course of the 2022-2023 winter season leading up to the Alley Loop. All 5 races will include age specific distances for our CBNT athletes (1ks and 3ks). The schedule is posted here. These local races will take on different formats and offer a fun, casual environment for racing. All CB Nordic athletes in our programs race for free!

Junior National Qualifier

Crested Butte Nordic is hosting a Junior National Qualifier on December 17th and 18th of this year. A Junior National Qualifier is the highest level of junior racing within Rocky Mountain Nordic, our racing division. Teams from all over the state and from New Mexico will race both Saturday and Sunday in two distance races on Ruthie’s Run. There will be races for athletes age 4 through 19. We are encouraging any CB Nordic athlete who is interested in racing to try out this higher level of competition, or even, just come out and watch. We are seeking volunteers for a few hour shifts each day of the races. More info to come.

Crested Butte Nordic’s Comp Team is seeking an assistant coach.

Seeking an Assistant Coach for the Crested Butte Nordic Comp Team.

The Crested Butte Nordic Team (CBNT) is seeking an assistant coach for their competitive Nordic Team. CBNT is a club team in the Rocky Mountain Region. Its athletes compete at a national level and train year round. The assistant coach will be expected to attend all practices (during the winter season, with the option to help coach year round), travel during the winter to all team races, and assist the Head Coach with many logistical, administrative and technical roles. Seasonal part-time salary starting at $8,000 with the opportunity for full time work through the umbrella organization, Crested Butte Nordic.

The Crested Butte Nordic Team is always looking for enthusiastic, motivated and responsible people to join our team of coaches. We are currently hiring coaches for our afternoon afterschool programs that begin at the end of November.
