The Cupid Crusher delivered! Our trails, blanketed in all this new snow, are a beautiful sight! We’re working hard to get everything back open and in prime condition for the next couple of months of nordic skiing. Thank you for respecting trail closures while avalanche danger is present. February is non-stop around the Nordic Center. With the JNQ behind us, the Gothic Mountain Tour is here. We’re looking for a few more volunteers this Saturday, February 22nd to help with a few key positions, including Snodgrass Traffic Marshal, Pittsburgh Checkpoint Support, and Shuttle Drivers. Sign up to volunteer here! In other exciting news, the Kilometer Krush has brought out the best of friendly competition in Crested Butte. It’s not too late to submit your kilometers and compete for glory. Check out the current leaderboard. See you on the trails.

Junior National Qualifiers

A great weekend of youth skiing!
|
CB Nordic hosted just under 200 junior racers from across the region over the weekend for the last Junior National Qualifier races of the season. It was a fun and snow-filled weekend, with athletes tackling a classic sprint on Saturday and a skate distance race on Sunday on the Ruthie's Run Trails. The CB Nordic Team had a strong weekend of racing, with around 35 athletes from the Comp and Devo teams taking part in the competitions. A few highlights included a win for senior Finn Veit in his final race with the team on Sunday, a podium from Sophia Bender in Saturday's classic sprint, and numerous podiums (and even more smiles) from the Team's super strong Devo contingent. Four CBNT athletes (Finn Veit, Sophia Bender, Tazzy Pozner, and Ben Larson) also punched their tickets to compete at Junior Nationals in Soldier Hollow in mid-March. As always, the CB Nordic community was out in force volunteering, cheering, and generally making sure that the weekend was a success - thank you all for your support!

Dog Etiquette and Dog Trails
|
Our trails run through a combination of private, conserved, and public land. Access to these trails is governed by agreements with landowners, the Crested Butte Land Trust, Western Colorado University, and other entities. Please educate yourself on the trail rules and uses before you head out.
On the East Side, dogs are allowed on Town Ranch, Riverbend, and the Rec Path. On the West Side, dogs are allowed on Beaver Trail, Kapushion, Pooch's Paradise, and Mike's Mile (moose permitting).
Thank you for bringing your furry friend along on the dog trails ONLY. Dogs on other trails may jeopardize our agreements and access to trails for all.
And, of course, thank you for displaying your trail pass!
