We’ve successfully executed our annual Thanksgiving Ski Camp on snow for the past three decades! It’s not uncommon for us to await adequate early snow accumulation right up until the night before Thanksgiving day… This obviously makes for a nail biting logistical run up to T-Camp weekend.
Fortunately our in-town venue, “The Bench”, is skiable with a mere few inches of snow. If the Bench is not skiable prior to opening of Friday Clinic’s (11/27), the following modifications will be made to the camp format. Please review camp contingency plans below.
Clinic Alterations & Cancellation:
Level 3 – Advanced clinics will be relocated to our high elevation, groomed trail network at Lily Lake ( 7 mile from town up Kebler Pass road).
Level 2 – Intermediate clinics may be relocated to Lily Lake for skiers who have adequate fitness to make a sustained climb to the high meadows. It may also be possible to move Intermediate clinics to some intermediate terrain located up the Slate Valley, conditions dependent.
Level 1 – Beginner & Introductory clinics will be cancelled.
A fun-filled, multi-lap course will be set to put your new skills to the test! Course will incorporate lots of agility and maneuvering with NO big climbs. This race against the clock is the perfect opportunity to get an idea for how your technique holds up under fatigue.
Fischer will be offering complimentary demo set-ups Friday through Sunday. Gear will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis – 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily, in tents outside the Nordic Center.
