This new storm just keeps dumping!  The East Side and Ruthie’s were groomed this morning, with all open trails ready for skiing!  The West Side trails will be completed by 10 am and are recommended for today, with the caveat that Mike’s Mile is closed past the Meadows due to avalanche danger. All new snow is good, but keep in mind that these trails will start to fill in a bit, and we recommend getting out there early!  Enjoy this winter wonderland!

The CBAC advises: Heavy snowfall and strong winds are overloading a weak and fragile snow pack. Expect a widespread cycle of avalanches large enough to bury a person. Backcountry travelers can easily trigger dangerous avalanches this afternoon. Some avalanches could release naturally. Travel in or below avalanche terrain is not recommended today. Under such conditions, travel on Peanut Lake Road beyond the Gronk is discouraged. Mike’s Mile and Paradise Park are already closed in advance of this storm.”
