Good Morning! It’s 9 degrees at 7:50 am under clearing sky’s, today is going to be absolutely stellar! .  The 28th Annual Alley Loop Nordic Marathon is today and we want you there!  It’s the biggest costume party on ski’s and is designed for the serious competitor and the people who are looking to have a great time.  So come one and come all, check out the Alley Loop Race.  Start times are as follows. 1.5K @ 9:20am—3k@ 9:35am—  42k Classic @ 9:40am—- 42k Skate @ 10:00am—- 21k  @ 10:05am– 10k @ 10:10am—5k@ 10:15am.  The race cut-off time is at 3:00pm. Everybody who is not participating is encouraged to come and be apart of the supreme Nordic fun!  Cruise on over to Elk ave near the post office/Brick oven pizza 🙂   

Because of the Alley Loop on Saturday and a collegiate race on the Bench on Sunday the focus of our grooming efforts will be on the West Side and The Bench.

The current grooming status is as follows:

On the West side:  All trails were groomed yesterday except upper and lower Red Lady.  Paradise Park and Mikes mile are closed because of high avalanche danger.  All other trails were groomed yesterday  which includes the following trails: the Kapushion Trail, Beaver Trail, Peanut Lake Trail, Pooches Paradise and Magic Meadows. 

On the Bench: Ruthie’s Run was groomed today.

On the East Side:  ALL trails were groomed yesterday morning including: the Rec Path, the Gulch Connector, Rudy’s Rollers, the Maze, Middle Earth, Tony’s, the Skyland and Riverbend Connectors, and the Town Ranch.

Laurel Douglass is also providing a free women’s skate clinic today at the Crested Butte Nordic Center at 4:00pm

KBUT TRAIL REPORT

Crested Butte Nordic is reporting 1 degrees under partly cloudy skies this morning. CB Nordic maintains 55k of groomed classic, skate and snowshoe trails in and around town. Trail passes are required and are available at the Nordic Center located at 2nd and Whiterock.
