Trail Report Jan, 4, 2014

Good Morning! It’s 23 degrees at 7:30 am under moderate snowy Sky’s.

The current grooming status for the Crested Butte Nordic trails are as follows:

On the West side: Upper and Lower Red Lady, Pooches, Peanut Lake, Inner and Outer Magic Meadows, Beaver Trail, and Paradise Park were groomed this morning around 6am.  Mike’s Mile and the Kupushin Trail were groomed yesterday.  Today we have the Citizen Series Race taking place on Upper and Lower Red Lady and the Magic Meadows trails including Paradise Park, Pooches, Peanut Lake, and the Beaver Trail.  The classic race begins at 9:30am and our skate race begins at 10am. All racers should be finished around 1pm today. 

The Bench Trails were groomed early last night.

On the East Side: All trails, except the Skyland and Riverbend connectors, were groomed yesterday including: Town Ranch, The Rec Path, The Gulch Connector, Rudy’s Rollers, Middle Earth, the Maze and Tony’s. Mordor remains closed due to Orcs.

Stop by the Nordic Center to pick up your passes and come check out our new products from Swix, Craft, Camp and Buff! Also, remember that each Friday night at 4pm there is a Women’s skate clinic.  This clinic is somewhat informal and is open to all abilities, it’s  a great way to meet new people and get a good workout.  This clinic is lead by the one and only Laurel Douglas.  The clinic begins at 4pm and is provided with a $5 rental and trail pass if needed.  Please contact the Nordic Center at 349-1707 for further questions.  Also, you can check out our grooming in real time at on the cbnordic.org web page.  Click on our trail report and follow the link on the right hand side bar.

KBUT TRAIL REPORT

Crested Butte Nordic is reporting 23 degrees with fresh snow falling and 3″ of new. CB Nordic maintains 55 k of groomed classic, skate and snowshoe trails in and around town. Trail passes are required and are available at the Nordic Center located at 2nd and Whiterock.
