Trail Report for Sunday, 3-6-16

A moody morning surrounds us with sulking clouds, pink mist on Red Lady and now snowflakes!  Hooray!  We are expecting 1-3 inches today, with increasing winds.  Our 7:30 am temperature is 29 degrees, with an expected high of 40.

We have groomed all our 50 km except Ruthie’s Run above the nordic center, Skyland Connector and Mordor.  Again, the skiing is outstanding, with the expertly milled surface giving you great purchase and fast speeds.  Since the night-time temperature wasn’t as low as usual, the crust cruising window will be brief this morning, but still super fun if you get out there right now.

Today we have our Backcountry Bistro at the Magic Meadows yurt from 10 am – 2pm.  Hot soup, pie, mango mimosas, beer, wine, hot drinks and a warm, friendly atmosphere awaits those who ski or snowshoe out with some cash.  Have a fabulous day of skiing!
