And yet again, we get one inch of snow to grace our morning! It is 25 degrees at 7:30 am, and the snow is still falling, defying the weather reports, which say less than an inch is expected today. Our high for the day is only supposed to go up 3 degrees to 28.
Mike’s Mile will be groomed by about 10 am, and Ruthie’s Run (the 5 km loop at the nordic center and up on to the bench) is being buffed out right now for the Junior Olympic Qualifier race this morning. Ruthie’s will be closed to public skiing until 1 pm today, but walking up to cheer is highly recommended! The races yesterday were very exciting. The Magic Meadows and Town Ranch loops and connectors were all groomed yesterday and should be in great shape with only the inch of snow on them. If it snows harder, we will certainly re-evaluate the grooming of them.
Come in and get a lesson! It is a fabulous way to start your xc ski career or hone your seasoned skills. We have a wonderful slate of instructors eager to tailor to your skill level.
This is the last day of our Ski Mountaineering Academy – we had a great 2 days of classes and camaraderie centered around traveling safely through the mountains on your skis – and are excited to go either to Snodgrass or to the Friend’s Hut today.
