Trail Report for Saturday, 1/9/16

With Magic in the air, we see a temperature of 10 degrees at 7:30 am and light snow is falling.  We have received a trace of new snow overnight, and are predicted to get less than an inch more today, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of about 20.

We have groomed the majority of the west side this morning – Red Lady, Paradise Park, and the GB Loop were groomed on previous days.  Ruthie’ Run on the Bench above the nordic center was also groomed.  The east side is still in fine shape from yesterday’s grooming.

Today is the Magic Meadows 7, the biggest fundraiser of the year for the CB youth nordic team.  Skiers will start racing, or skiing recreational loops around the Magic Meadows Yurt at 8 am, garnering funds from pledges.  Come out and support these young skiers and get in a fabulous ski in a festive atmosphere.  Food, beverage and music is in the works.

Sign up for a backcountry tour!  Our guides lead you on snowshoes or skis to remote parts of the winter wonderland surrounding Crested Butte, delighting the senses with fabulous sights and fascinating natural and local history tidbits.  For more information, look here at or call (970) 349-1707.
