And with the flurry of race organizers and pink clouds, we begin the day at 7 am with a temperature of 6 degrees. The forecasted high shoots up to 35 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
We have groomed all of the west side trails except Pink Lady and Paradise Park Loop! They are in great to good shape, with a few willow/dogwood/herb stalks here and there, and considerations for low snow cover. The connector over to Ranch Loop, Ranch Loop and Riverbend connector were all groomed yesterday and are in fine shape.
Ruthie’s Run, the 5 km loop right at the nordic center, is being used by the big Junior Olympic Qualifier races today and tomorrow until 1 pm, so are closed to the public for skiing, but please come on up and cheer on the best of the Colorado youth racers!
Our Ski Mountaineering Academy is also going on today and tomorrow, mostly at the downhill resort, with over 30 participants!
