Looks like the start of a beautiful, sunny day with fresh snow here in Crested Butte!  All open trails were groomed this morning and are ready for you to make the first tracks!  Please keep in mind that Paradise Park and Mike’s Mile are closed due to avalanche danger.  The Crested Butte Avalanche Center reports: “Today, Storm Slab avalanches could again be sensitive to human triggering. These slabs will grow large in size and became very dangerous on wind-loaded terrain features at near and above treeline elevations. Avalanches could also fail deeper in the snowpack on persistent weak layers. We have seen a string of large human triggered avalanches for more than a week now. This avalanche problem can be remotely triggered and break above you.”  So, stay safe and get out in the sunshine!
