Rental Equipment

& Day Pass Purchase

Please reserve your equipment as much in advance as possible. We cannot guarantee walk-up availability. Pick-up your rental equipment at the Nordic Center (620 Second Street, Crested Butte). Please return your equipment by 4 p.m. on the day of your rental.

Day-of rentals and Day Passes may be purchased in-person at the Front Desk.

Skis or snowshoes are required on most of our groomed trails, as is a day pass.

Ski packages come with boots and poles. If purchasing a package, poles come with it and do not need to be reserved. If ONLY purchasing poles, please do so in person at the Nordic Center. We have a fleet of Fischer rental skis including traditional cross-country (classic) skis with fish scales, backcountry classic skis with metal edges, and classic skis with mohair skins (Fischer Twin Skins). We also rent Fischer RCR and RCS skate skis.


Snowshoe packages come with optional boots and poles, though we do encourage you to wear your own winter footwear if you have it. We rent men’s, women’s, and children’s snowshoes.

  • Child Snowshoe Package (16 and under) – Full Day – $10
  • Adult Ski Package (ages 17+) – Full Day – $25
  • Child Ski Package (16 and under) – Full Day – $15

Lessons & Tours

Taking a lesson or going on a guided tour is the best way to ensure you get the most out of your time cross-country skiing. Our PSIA certified instructors can help by giving you a solid foundation, so you have more fun while you’re out there. Our knowledgable guides will show you around our groomed trail system or take you farther afield to explore CB’s spectacular backcountry drainages. Whether you’re new to nordic, new to CB, or just want to progress in your skills, working with a qualified instructor or guide is the fastest way to getting more out of winter.
