Learn to Ski With Us

Whether you have never cross country skied or could use some fine-tuning, a lesson can make all the difference. Our Nordic Center has a team of friendly, PSIA certified cross-country ski instructors that will introduce you to the sport or take your skiing to the next level!

Learn to Ski

Learn to Ski
$79 for 1 person, $60 for each additional person. We offer our Learn to Ski lessons every day at 9, 10:30, 12, and 1:30. The Learn to Ski lesson is for people who are just beginning their lifetime of cross-country skiing and would like to learn the basics of classic technique from a professional, knowledgeable instructor. Learn to Ski are private lessons, but they may be reserved as a family, group, couple, or individual. Our Learn to Ski lessons are 60 minutes long and teach classic technique. Includes trail pass and rentals.

Private Lessons
$99 for 1 person, $60 for each additional person. Private lessons are offered daily at 9, 10:30, 12, and 1:30. Catering to a wider range of ages, abilities and techniques than our Learn to Ski lesson, we encourage intermediate and advanced skiers, as well as those wishing to learn to skate ski, to take a private lesson. Private instruction may be reserved as a family, group, couple, or individual. Private lessons are 75 minutes and teach your choice of classic or skate. Includes trail pass and rentals.

Weekend Skate Clinics

Weekend Skate Clinics
$80 per person, per clinic. These half day (2.5 hours on snow) clinics are held from 9 a.m. to noon on various Saturdays throughout the season. They are for skiers who want to improve their skiing technique and efficiency. Participants should be comfortable on skis, have the ability to get up some hills, and safely stop on downhills.  Clinics will focus on skills and drills and will feature video analysis. There is a 3 person minimum in each clinic. Our 2019/2020 dates are: Dec. 28, Jan. 4, Jan. 25, Feb. 22, and Mar. 7.

Skimo School

Skimo School
$90 per person. These group clinics will introduce you to all things skimo. Ideal for the first time racer looking to prepare themselves for a successful GT  or if you’re just looking to have race recreationally. Clinics cover skinning, transitions, skating, and gear management. Offered Saturday, January 11 and Saturday, February 15, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Learn from 6-time Skimo National Champion and 2018 & 2019 Grand Traverse Champion Cam Smith.

Learn to Ski for Free
FREE! Learn to Ski for Free clinics are group lessons offered on Wednesdays throughout the season from noon to 1 pm.  The lessons are for beginners, people who have a hard time skate or classic skiing, or people who have never tried nordic skiing before. Participants must sign up in advance. Each lesson has a maximum of 12 participants and is open to skiers ages 18 and over. You may only sign up for 2 Learn to Ski for Free lessons throughout the season.

new thanksgiving camp

Thanksgiving Camp
Varies. Our annual Thanksgiving Camp fills the holiday weekend with clinics for skiers of all ages and abilities with professional instructors from all over the state. Situated at 10,400 feet, the Lily Lake trails just a  outside of Crested Butte are a reliable venue for early-season snow and make a great staging ground for the Camp. Some years we can even host the Camp right in town. Join us for a weekend of learning, of fun, and community-building.

All lessons and clinics are available by reservation only.
Lessons & clinics have limited space, so be sure to reserve early.
Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Equipment rentals and trail passes, if required, are an additional cost.
