It’s time to learn how to Skate Ski (Properly)
We want to get as many people outside and active in the winter as possible. One of the reasons we’re offering free rentals to season passholders is so that people don’t need to worry about buying equipment to get out there and enjoy the amazing trail network around Crested Butte. Now that everybody has equipment to use though, it’s time to learn how to use it properly! That’s why we’re offering Learn to Skate Ski for Free every Wednesday in December and January (except for two Wednesdays around the Holidays).
LSSF is an hour long lesson that goes from noon to 1 p.m. so you can do it on your lunch break. The lessons are for beginners, people who have a hard time skate skiing, or who have maybe never even tried it before. We’ll stay down in the practice area in front of the Nordic Center (we’ve got plenty of snow there believe it or not) so that we can focus on pointers and technique, not skiing far. You’re welcome to sign up for a couple of these lessons to keep getting pointers and feedback but at some point, you may want to get a more advanced lesson.
These lessons are designed for folks in the community that have bought a season pass and would love to learn how to skate ski, or learn how to do it better! Non season passholders are welcome too, but they must purchase a day pass to participate, and either rent or bring their own equipment.
Learn to Skate Ski for Free is just another way that we strive to get as many people active and outside in the winter, making the community healthier and happier. Enjoy!
