  • Racer Information

    Bib Pick-up
    Friday, February 24th at Crested Butte Nordic Center from 5 to 8 p.m.

    Race Start & Bag Drop
    5:30 AM – Mandatory Beacon Check – Start Line (Town Ranch Trailhead)
    6 AM – Race Start

    Race staff will transport post-race clothing to the finish at the Magic Meadows Yurt.  Bring this drop bag to the Start Line.

    Required Equipment
    You must present a valid CORSAR, hunting, fishing or snowmobile registration at bib pickup.  Pre-purchase this Search & Rescue coverage prior to bib pick-up.  Buy CORSAR Card Online

    This is a backcountry race, through known avalanche terrain.  Beacon, shovel, probe and skins are required.  The Snodgrass and Pittsburgh descents are not suitable for nordic skis.  Lightweight AT and randonee gear is recommended and lightweight telemark gear is acceptable.

    Directions to Start @ Town Ranch trail head

    7:30 AM at the top of Painter Boy on Crested Butte Mountain Resort
    9:00 AM at the Gothic Townsite

    Long course participants may park at the community school.  A shuttle will be provided to your car from the finish at Magic Meadows.

    Short course participants will be responsible for their own shuttle from the end of the short course tour at the Washington Gulch trailhead.

    Cancellation and Postponement Policy
    There are no refunds given for racer cancellations.  This event is subject to cancellation or date change due to high avalanche conditions. Fees refunded in this case.


  • Short Course

    The short course is the same as the original Super Tour course (see below).  You will be responsible for your own shuttle and there will be no official finish line or time.  The short course is a tour, not a race, and folks typically ski it in groups.  Although the descent from Top of the World to the Washington Gulch Trailhead can be tricky, nordic skis can be used.
