We definitely cannot complain about all the snow we’re getting today! Here’s a snippet from this week last year, “Caution is needed on Red Lady Loop – Many hidden obstacles. There are hidden and unmarked obstacles on all trails especially in Magic Meadows.” Last year we were still dealing with those obstacles leading up to Alley Loop, but look at us now! All this fun snow has added some real danger to many areas of our trails. Many trails in the Magic Meadows/Peanut Lake area are closed due to avalanche danger. Please adhere to all posted closure signs in these areas. In addition, the CBAC has warned that many roads (Gothic, Peanut Lake, Kebler Pass, Cement Creek, Brush Creek) are unsafe as avalanches can cross valley floors. If you find yourself still keen on skiing today, the trails on the East Side are open and will fill in quickly. Today could be the day to put down the skinny skis and tell yourself to take a powder day on the mountain!
