GROOMER'S NOTE

Good morning! The trail system is groomed and looking crisp. Grab your pass and get out there!

You may already know that the Slate River near Magic Meadows is home to a large heron rookery. These beautiful birds migrate to warmer climates for the winter, but return to the Slate River in the spring to lay their eggs and raise their young. Last year, these herons were observed exhibiting a stress response to nordic skiers on the outermost Magic Meadow trail in late March. Therefore, we are closing this small piece of trail from now until closing day, as they typically arrive in mid-March, and we want to do everything possible to make them feel at home. Thank you for your understanding and support of our heron rookery!

Please respect this trail closure and use the rest of the Magic Meadows trails!
