What a morning in Crested Butte! Lots of snow has piled up over night, and will (fingers crossed) continue through tonight! This storm is quite significant, and the AVALANCHE DANGER IS HIGH TODAY. Please consult the Crested Butte Avalanche Center website HERE for more in-depth information about current trail and backcountry reports. As for Nordic trails, all trails were groomed this morning and the snow is piling up out there, so the groomers will continue to groom through the storm to maintain trail pack. Please note the map is not being updated, so the written report will be updated if something happens. Mike’s Mile and Paradise Park are both closed today due to avalanche danger, and travel on Peanut Lake Road past the Gronk trailhead is not recommended. Today is a wonderful day to leave the skinny skis at home, grab the alpine skis instead and hit the mountain slopes!
