A few words from Kevin Krill, our Operations Manager – If you haven’t been to the Nordic Center recently, it is worth a drive by. We are deep in Outpost construction. Nothing is ever normal, and this fall is no exception. By Thanksgiving, we hope to gain more of our Training Area back so that we’re ready to host lessons and programming without a hitch. This is, of course, dependent on snowfall.
Speaking of snowfall, did anyone notice it snowed this weekend? It is always amazing how fast the landscape transforms. We are thrilled to share that The Bench trails will be open starting Saturday, November 11th. Until that time, please remember our trails are not open to the public. The majority of Nordic Center trails utilize private trail easements and do not allow for preseason skiing – please help us maintain positive landowner relations by respecting private property.
What’s the status of Lily Lake? Given the abundance of early-season snow in town, our priority is to prepare and maintain our in-town trails for opening day on November 11th. In particular, our focus is on the Bench Trails. Should the weather turn (significantly warm-up), we will consider grooming Lily Lake. For now, thanks for your patience and we cannot wait to welcome you on the Bench Trails next Saturday, November 11th.
In the meantime, we encourage you to enjoy the abundance of public land surrounding the Town. Thanks to everyone who is as excited to ski as I am!
