What will your winter look like?
Start Your Planning Now
Labor Day weekend is a tipping point here at CB Nordic. Not only did we conduct a successful Summer Grand Traverse amid a pandemic, but we also got (very!) early season snow this year. While we love the flowers of summer and the yellow leaves of fall, September means that we are off and running envisioning winter with you.
As you know, Season Passes are on sale now and we’re excited to have you join us for a winter of unlimited skiing on your terms. Additionally, we’re now enrolling Business & Lodging Partners, so if you’re interested in learning how CB Nordic can help you achieve your goals, please reach out! Finally, we are working out the details of what our Masters Community programs will look like, but Masters are indeed happening this season.

Summer GT Success
300+ Racers Tackled the "Grand Loop"
Labor Day weekend CB Nordic successfully pulled off one of the few endurance races of the summer in Colorado. We implemented many new health protocols for bib pick-up, racer briefing, aid stations, the start, and the finish. Racers completed what turned out to be a beautiful but arduous 45-ish mile loop course that took them up and over Star Pass. It taught us a lot about racing in the time of COVID, and gives as a hopeful outlook for being able to host events, albeit with modifications, this coming winter.
Our own Cam Smith won the men’s Run, with a time of 7:03:04.3, just 2 seconds ahead of second place! Spartan Race World Champion Nicole Mericle won the women’s Run in 8:21:56.9. The Bike had a stacked men’s field, with National Champion Russell Finsterwald taking home the win in 4:10:54.9, while local pro and mountain bike coach Jenny Smitt won the women’s race in 5:30:34.3.
Thank you to all our volunteers who enabled us to pull this off!

Masters Update
Programs are happening!
Just like with the Junior Team, we are working to craft this year’s Masters Program to align with the Gunnison County Coronameter. What does this mean for you? Masters is happening! It also means smaller groups and meeting at trailheads around town, so you get more personalized and diversified instruction. New this year, Masters will offer the choice of a 3-week session (2 clinics/week) or a 6-week session (1 clinic/week), so you have more options to fit your schedule. Stay tuned for more info. Registration will open November 1.
