Welcome back!
We're excited to see you soon.
Snow is gracing the peaks, the Aspen leaves are showing off, and your local Nordic Center is getting a little busier as we prepare to open our doors for the season on November 11th.
As we turn our attention towards winter, that means another Summer Grand Traverse has come and gone. The 10th annual edition celebrated human-powered endurance between Crested Butte and Aspen. This event would not be possible without your help! This year, we had 81 volunteers help pull off this feat. Thank you for making it a great success!
Are you ready for another winter of beautiful trails and community fun? Season passes are on sale, program registrations are open, the Annual Potluck and Bridge Days are on the calendar, and registration for the Alley Loop opens on October 1st. It’s almost CB Nordic season, and we can’t wait to welcome you back! Our CB Nordic Team Head Coach, Ben Theyerl, wrote a beautiful article, Finding Mountains and Meaning in Crested Butte. Settle in with a cup of coffee for this heartwarming read, and we guarantee you’ll have skiing on the brain too!

Program Registrations
Join Masters and CB Nordic Team!
Registration is open, and we’d love to spend the winter on snow with you and your family. Check out the Masters Community Program Guide for adult offerings and CB Nordic Team Program Guide for youth offerings. Looking for something different? Try Adult Biathlon or Mom’s Power Hour. Start the kids young with a Pre-K Nordic group on Wednesdays at 11 am. Introduce your middle schooler to snow safety and best practices with our Backcountry Education groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which complements the CBMR Mountain Sports Team schedule.
Want to be more involved? Join our youth programs coaching staff. Contact CB Nordic Team Rec Head Coach Alex Riedman, [email protected], for more information.
Bridge Days!
October 20th and October 21st
It’s fall out there, which means it’s bridge time again. We couldn’t complete this massive task without you! Please consider joining us on Friday, October 20th or Saturday, October 21st. Plus, there’s no better way to work up an appetite for the Annual Potluck! Please RSVP if you can join us. Meet at the Nordic Center at 8:30 a.m. each day. Lunch is provided. Bring your friends!

Annual Potluck
Let's celebrate the changing seasons!
It’s already time to start thinking about the CB Nordic Annual Potluck. Please join us Friday, October 20th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Nordic Center. No need to RSVP, just show up and bring a dish to share! Let’s all reminisce about our summer highlights and dream about winter together. This year we’ve invited Jake Jones of the CB Land Trust to come talk about what it means to provide space for wildlife and outdoor recreation.
Season Passes
Get yours 20% off through October 31st.
We’re excited to bring you another season of 50 km of nordic fun! And we’re thrilled to be able to keep pass prices the same as last year. Season passes go on sale starting September 1st. Don’t forget to snag yours at early bird prices. Regular season pricing starts November 1st.

Community Race Series
Three fun races this year!
This year, we’re offering three community races. Each race will feature a 3k kids/fun distance and progressively longer full courses leading up to the Alley Loop. Mark your calendars for December 9th, January 13th, and January 20th. Registration will open on November 11th.
Nordic Center Updates!
Time for a stone grind and a ski rack.
The Nordic Center opens on November 11th. Come pick up your season pass and peruse our retail offerings as we wait for the snow to fall. We’re offering Stone Grinding again through Boulder Nordic Sport. Print and fill out this form to reserve your spot. Drop off your skis at the Nordic Center before October 31st.
Did you order new skis for the season? Need a better ski transport system? Consider a Gravirax hitch-mounted ski rack. Use code Butte1 to get $100 off your purchase, and Gravirax will donate $100 to CB Noridc. The offer expires on November 5th.
Want to join the Nordic team? We have a few holiday and fill-in front desk shifts available. Email Nordic Center Manager Matt Powers, [email protected], for more information.
