Winter Is Not Over Yet...
We have plenty to keep you busy!
Did someone say spring? Apparently, old man winter has other plans for us. The continued flow of moisture is keeping our groomers busy. And for that matter, we’re all keeping busy!
Coming up, we have a whole host of activities to keep you enjoying the delights of winter… because it’s still winter. Next Wednesday, we’re hosting our first ever Adult Biathlon Session. On Saturday, March 25, we invite you to join us for our inaugural “Free for All”, a community ski day. And let’s not forget, we have the 25th Grand Traverse Ski on April 1-2. As always, we need a village of volunteers to help pull-off this grand event.
So, let’s make the most of our extended winter conditions!

Adult Biathlon Session
Just when you thought skate skiing couldn't get any better
Join us next Wednesday, March 22 from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM for our first-ever Adult Biathlon Session. Are you a fan of Nordic skate skiing but always wondered how you could possibly make it even more fun? At the Session you’ll learn about the history of Biathlon (Europe’s most popular winter sport), Biathlon rules, and Biathlon range and rifle safety. We will cover various Biathlon race formats and participants will get the chance to ski a short Biathlon using Crested Butte Nordic’s air rifles for the shooting bouts. Skate skiing experience is helpful, but not required. Clinc cost is $25. Cannot make it but want to stay in the loop?
Visit our Calendar of Events to sign up for future Biathlon information.
Free for All
A fun-filled community ski!
On Saturday, March 25, we want to welcome the Gunnison Valley, and our visitors, to join us for “Free for All,” a community ski day at Crested Butte Nordic. While skiing and snowshoeing is what we do, the community is WHY we do it. To celebrate this, we’re inviting all to this fun-filled community ski.
Trail passes and equipment rentals will be FREE. Participants will need to reserve gear prior March 25 and trail passes will need to be picked up at the Nordic Center. Join in the festivities from 10AM – 2PM, with a rolling start from the Gronk Trailhead at 10 AM. There will be plenty of self-guided ski challenges, fun and great skiing to be had. Costumes encouraged and rewarded!

The 25th Annual Grand Traverse
Call for Volunteers
You may have heard that we’ve got a ski race to Aspen shaping up! The 25th Grand Traverse is coming up on April 1-2, and with that comes our call for volunteers. We are so grateful for our volunteers, you make our little world go round and our events would not be possible without your dedication and support. If you’re feeling inspired to be a part of this amazing race, we need folks to help out with athlete check in, bib pick up, beacon check, shuttle drivers and more.
Interested in being part of the race buzz? You can sign-up here.
Beer Ski World Championships
You won't want to miss it
Crested Butte Nordic and Treasury Liquors are excited to announce the return of the Beer Ski World Championships! On Saturday, April 8 at the Magic Meadows Yurt, individuals and relay teams will chug beers and then ski a 1/2 mile loop
in this ultra-athlete event. There will be two race options, a Relay and Solo. If you’re not into racing, just come celebrate an amazing season with us at the Yurt!
