In the February Groove

The snow and events keep on coming

First off, a huge thank you to all who came out to make the 37th Alley Loop a great success. This is our biggest event of the year and it wouldn’t be what it is without the vast number of volunteers, officials, and racers of all ages and abilities. For this, we thank you!

With the Alley Loop in the rear view, we are easing into our February groove. We’ve still got plenty of good times in the works at CB Nordic. From educational tours to Masters to fun Yurt events, we hope you’ll get in the groove with us. So, keep rocking those snow dances, keep your skis on deck, and join us in celebrating some mid-winter awesome!

Thanks to recent snow and more on the way, our trails are skiing like velvet. As totals increase overnight and another storm moves in late next week, be prepared to adjust your intended outings as avalanche danger may close Mike’s Mile and Paradise Park. Stay tuned to our Trail Report for daily updates on trail conditions and closures.

Coming up this month we have Learn to Ski FREEYoga at the Yurt, and the 17th Annual Gothic Mountain Tour. If you’re looking to get out with a guide, take 20% off tours for our Sweetheart Special going on through the month of February. Lastly, a quick reminder that there will be no Sunday Bistro at the Yurt as it will be serving as the finish line for the Gothic Mountain Tour.

Gothic Mountain Tour

Sunday, Feb. 19

We are in the 17th year of hosting this unique event and are looking forward to another majestic circumnavigation of Gothic Mountain, skimo style. This 22 mile backcountry tour leaves from Town Ranch to ascend the shoulder of Mt. Crested Butte before traveling out Gothic road, around the north aspect of Gothic Mountain before dropping into Slate River to finish at the Magic Meadows Yurt. Boasting an accumulated vert of 5,000 feet, this is a fantastic training tour for the Grand Traverse. The GMT is full for this year, but click the link below to learn more and consider joining us next year!
